For more than twenty years we have also offered limited and specialized astronomically oriented tours through our "Voyages of Discovery" program. These unique tours have included solar eclipses, northern lights, both rare transits of Venus, astronomy, archaeology & geology of Arizona, and global travel filled with memories of a lifetime. We utilize the special talents of Marian Cohen, an independent travel consultant with forty years experience in the travel industry. During these years she has helped design, organize and escort these tours. Marian also holds bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Michigan (UM) and Indiana University (IU) respectively. Early in her career, Marian taught history and chemistry in public schools that helped give her the discipline and organizational skills needed to arrange these special tours.

Marian is aided by her husband, Dr. Howard L. Cohen, an emeritus professor of astronomy at the University of Florida. Professor Cohen was on the UF faculty for more than thirty-five years. Like his wife, Marian, he holds degrees from both UM and IU. He is a founding member of the area's local astronomy club, (Alachua Astronomy Club or AAC). He has also been a staff member at Lowell Observatory and served as a technical consultant and regional manager for Meade Instruments, a world leader manufacturing telescopes. He and his wife have traveled to more than a dozen total solar eclipse and were fortunate enough to observe both transits of Venus. With the AAC he was an important contributor for helping helping Eastern Federal Corp. and Tarpon Springs artist Elizabeth Indianos design and erect the astronomical murals in the Gainesville Royal Park 16 theater lobby (now owned by Regal). Likewise he was also a major player with the AAC, the artist and the City of Gainesville helping design and erect the City's Solar Walk.
